Clover Hill Road is one of the addresses I watch most closely. Just outside the historic Village of Waterford, it threads through some of western Loudoun County's most photographed countryside — working horse farms, mature hardwoods, the long sweep toward the Blue Ridge at sunset. Homes along it don't come up often, and they tend not to linger. 15018 Clover Hill Road is freshly back on the market after a recent contract fell through, and I am now scheduling showings.
The setting

The home sits on approx. 10 acres of rolling pasture and mature woodland, set well back from the road and framed by neighboring estates that have long shaped this corner of the county. The historic Village of Waterford — a National Historic Landmark District in continuous preservation since the eighteenth century — is a short drive away. Leesburg is approx. ten minutes east, and Dulles International Airport approx. twenty-five minutes beyond.
The grounds

Behind the house, the property opens to a fenced paddock and a run-in shed — the kind of light equestrian infrastructure that suggests possibility without commitment. The resort-inspired pool was refinished in 2025 with a dramatic dark-bottom treatment and is set into the lawn looking out toward the woodland edge. Two Trex decks extend the living space outward, one for catching morning light off the pasture and the other arranged for evening gatherings beneath the trees.
The home
Architecturally, the home reads as a refined colonial — clapboard siding, a steeply pitched roof, multiple dormers, stone accents at the entry, and a small cupola crowning the gable. Inside, a formal foyer opens to a staircase finished with custom millwork and turned balusters, lit by a tall arched window.

American cherry floors run throughout the main level. The family room, sunken slightly off the main hall, is anchored by a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace flanked by built-in shelving, with a wall of glass framing the pasture beyond.

The sun-filled eat-in kitchen, appointed with new appliances in 2025, opens to a breakfast area and out to the back deck. Granite counters and a generous cabinet program round out the working space, and the breakfast room flows easily into the rest of the main floor for the kind of indoor-outdoor entertaining the property was clearly built for.

Upper level and bonus
The upper level offers three ensuite bedrooms, each with a walk-in closet. The primary bath is finished with a freestanding claw-foot tub set against a window overlooking the grounds.

Above the main floor, an expansive bonus room with vaulted ceilings, skylights, and a triple window captures the western view — flexible space for a studio, library, or sitting room. A walk-out lower level with laundry and substantial storage opens directly to the pool and gardens.

What's new in 2025
Improvements completed this year include the pool refinishing, fresh paint throughout, all new windows, all new exterior doors, and the new kitchen appliances mentioned above. The result is a home that lives like new while retaining the architectural character of its original 2002 build.
